Privacy Policy
Daylife AI · Effective October 23, 2026
Daylife AI uses your camera to recognize information and lets you save results. This policy explains what stays on your device, what may be sent to service providers, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide and how we use it
- Camera images and scans. The app uses camera images or photos you select to recognize text, codes, objects, and other information. Standard recognition and selected local AI models process images on your device. Live camera frames are not uploaded for cloud AI. Captured images can be sent for cloud AI only when you use that selected service and submit a request.
- Cloud AI requests. If you select the paid cloud AI model and submit a request, the app sends a captured image (resized to no more than 1,000 pixels on its longest side), your prompt, and up to six recent conversation turns to a Firebase Cloud Function. That function forwards them to OpenAI to produce a response. The function does not save the raw image or conversation as an image archive. OpenAI may process and retain request data under its own applicable terms and policies. Do not submit sensitive material you do not want processed by this provider.
- AI answer reports. When you use Report AI answer, the selected answer and your chosen report reason are sent to Firebase for developer review. The report can be associated with your account if you are signed in. The photo and the rest of the conversation are not included. Reports are retained as needed to investigate and improve AI safety and can be requested for deletion through the account-deletion process.
- Saved items and AI history. Saved notes, to-do items, scan results, AI prompts and answers, reminders, and app preferences are stored on your device. AI conversations are not automatically added to Saved; the app also keeps AI query history for its chat and recent-prompt features. If you sign in, eligible saved text and selected preferences sync to your account in Google Cloud Firestore. The app does not sync the captured image itself as part of saved items.
- Account information. Google sign-in and Firebase Authentication provide an account identifier and basic profile details, such as your name, email address, and profile picture where available. We use the account to sync saved items and associate subscriptions with you.
- Purchases and usage. If you buy cloud AI access, Google Play processes the payment. Our backend receives a purchase verification token and product identifier to validate your subscription. It records the active plan, monthly cloud AI image usage, daily cloud request counts, and aggregate estimated AI costs, including image hashes used to avoid counting the same image twice in a month. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Voice input. If you use the microphone button, the app requests microphone permission and uses the device's speech-recognition service to turn speech into text. The device or speech provider may process audio according to its own privacy terms.
Permissions and device features
Camera access is used for scanning. Microphone access is used for voice input. Notifications and alarm access are used for reminders you set. Vibration and sound settings provide scan feedback. You can change permissions in your device settings. The app may download a local AI model when you choose one; the downloaded model is stored on your device and can be removed in Settings.
Advertising and service data
The app includes Google Mobile Ads and an ad privacy-options control. If ads are requested, Google may process identifiers, approximate location inferred from IP address, app interactions, and diagnostic data for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention, subject to your consent choices and Google's policies. Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, and App Check may process account, device, network, and integrity data needed to provide and protect these services. Google Play processes subscription transactions.
Sharing and storage
We share information with service providers only to operate the features described above: Google/Firebase for sign-in, sync, cloud functions, app integrity, ads, and purchases; OpenAI for cloud AI requests; and the device's speech provider for voice input when used. We do not sell your saved content. Provider processing and storage may occur outside your country. Data sent over the network uses the providers' secure connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention, deletion, and account requests
Local saved items remain until you delete them or remove the app. Signed-in saved items remain in Firestore until deleted. Settings offers controls to delete visible saved items and delete saved cloud data; cloud deletion requires a connection to finish syncing. These controls do not delete your Google/Firebase sign-in account or subscription records. You can also remove downloaded local models, sign out, and manage device permissions.
Subscription verification tokens and monthly usage records are separate from saved items. They may remain after saved-item deletion for subscription operation, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. We review account-deletion requests for these records and retain only what is necessary for those purposes. Google, OpenAI, and other service providers may retain their own records under their policies.
To request deletion of your Daylife AI account and associated data, use our account-deletion page. You can make this request even if you have uninstalled the app. We will verify ownership and explain any records that must be retained and why. Deleting your app account does not itself cancel a Google Play subscription; manage cancellation in Google Play.
Children
The app is not designed for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app.
